Bucharest, 30th of May 2019 - The Financial Supervisory Authority - Autoritatea de Supraveghere Financiară (ASF) - hosted meetings of the Board of Supervisors of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) and the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) in Bucharest in the course of May.
These were part of the regular series of meetings held annually by the decision-making bodies of the two Authorities.
During EIOPA’s 2019 Strategy Day the discussions focussed on the interaction between the micro- and macro-prudential instruments in addressing financial stability risks in the insurance sector and on the application of innovative technologies in supervision.
ESMA has discussed informally with its Members of the Board of Supervisors the strategic objectives of the Authority for the next few years as well as the framework for investor protection.
